image

It happens again… on Saturday, 28th February 2015 the second SQLSaturday in Austria will be held at >>JUFA Wien City*** JUFA Wien BetriebsgmbH Mautner Markhof Gasse 50, 1110 Wien<<. We changed the location in order to be able to cope with more attendees. Thanks to our >> sponsors <<, attendance at the conference is free.

Registration

Last year we had to close registration 3 weeks before the event because of a lack of space. Hopefully, this year every prospective participant will get her/his place. In order to be sure:

Register fast and early Winking smile >> Registration #sqlsatvienna 2015 <<

Sessions

It was a tough job of choosing 20 sessions from the list of more than 90 submitted session abstracts. Thanks again for your submissions! And apologies to those, whose abstracts had not been chosen!

I think  (and hope) that we have prepared an interesting schedule for #sqlsatvienna

Let’s have a look on the schedule (still subject to change) >> #sqlsatvienna 2015 – Schedule <<

Dejan Sarka: Advanced Data Modeling Topic

Every developer should know how to design a relational or a dimensional database. Nevertheless, there are still many advanced problems which are commonly solved in an inappropriate or at least inefficient way, or even not solved at all, because there is no solution out of the box in SQL Server. In addition, although the relational model is more than 40 years old and the dimensional model is also more than 30 years old, there are still many common myths and urban legends around them. In this seminar, we are going to deal with some of the most advanced problems and bust many common myths.

The topics include:
• Database design myths
• Graphs in a relational database – basics, constraints
• Optimizing general graphs and spatial data
• Dynamic relational schema
• Temporal data in SQL Server
• Optimizing temporal data
