Open cmd.exe (or any other program) in a specific Directory

I think all of us had been in the situation to start cmd.exe to work in a specific directory. In the past the only way I knew was to open cmd.exe and move to the required directory. Those steps were – in most of the cases – just annoying..

But – I learned something new that could improve my work style…

In most of the cases I started my cmd.exe adventure with an open Windows explorer pointing to my directory of interest. And that’s everything you need.. just click into the explorer adress bar and type cmd and press ENTER -> voila: cmd opens with the requested directory as working directory!

Simple, but great way.. and you can also use it to start powershell in the requested directory!

Happy cmd-ing,

Wolfgang
